After our safari, we went to Zanzibar for some rest and relaxation. While on the island, we visited Stonetown and went on a spice tour. The latter was really interesting, especially since we are so used to seeing spices in a jar on the supermarket shelves. Here are some of our photos.

Tarangire National Park
The last national park that we visited was Tarangire. We had a great ending to our trip when the last animals we saw before sunset were a pair of lions. Here are some of our photos from this park:
It looked like bratwurst hung from these types of trees!
No, that isn't a big roar, but rather a huge yawn!!
And while he sleeps, she's on the lookout.

Ngorongoro Conservation Area
We spent about two days in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Just like in the Serengeti, we saw lots of animals. Along the way, we visited a Maasai village. We also got out of the car for a little while and enjoyed a nature walk with a guide along the Ngorongoro crater rim. Here are just a few of our photos.
Photos from the conservation area:
Entrance to Ngorongoro
Photos from our stop at a Maasai Village:

Photos from our nature walk and top of the crater:

First light over the crater
The sunrise over the crater
The road down to the bottom of the crater
Photos from the bottom of the crater:
This warthog cracked me up! I love how he's kneeling to eat!
In the distance are two black rhinos!
These wildebeests were chasing away the cheetah in the right-hand side of the photo.
On the other side of the crater it was pouring.
A gustnado -- who would have imagined that?!
She was directly out my window!
So comfortable!
